Characteristics
The Saw Palmetto, contained in the Benaprost, (called also Serenoa repens or Palmetta of Florida) is a native plant of the South of the United States (Florida, exactly), of South-Europe and of North-Africa.
The main active principle contained in the extract of this plant is the beta-sitosterol but it also contains other sterols, free fat acids, carotenoid, essential oils and polysaccharides.
Properties
The lipophilic extracts (85-95% of fat acids and sterols) of the berries of Serenoa repens is used as coadjutant in the treatment of the benign prostatic hypertrophy to the level I and II and of the symptoms to it associated.
Taken orally, it has demonstrated to have evident anti-androgen effects , inhibiting the enzyme 5-alpha-riduttasi and the medicine of synthesis Finasterid, the receptor cytosilic of the DHT and the receptor cytosilic of the estrogens.
How to use it
It's advisable the assumption of 2 capsules a day on a full stomach.
